More often than not, leather straps are the first to break or tear in leather bags due to the weighted strain, drying out of the leather, or breakage at connection points between the accessories and straps.
CPR: Casual Parachord Restore started from my grandmother’s vintage LV bag which was in good condition except for its broken leather straps. The challenge if I restored it directly with a new leather strap was getting the leather colour to match back to the original aged leather. Simply putting on a new beige leather strap would look oddly out of place.
Integrating the new double braided parachord with patterns on gave it a fresh breathe of life and the parachord’s gold accents blended perfectly with the monogram patterns on the bag.
