Project Brief:an exercise of exchanged forms between Singapore and Kyoto, through designing objects based on photographs from each other’s home city.

Inspired by the handle of a Japanese uchiwa fan, Hirogari guides the arrangement of flowers and leaves in a fan-like display.



Flowers and foliage can be composed asymmetrically, inviting viewers to complete the fan with their imagination.



A project of cultural exchange and collaboration presented by KYOTO Design Lab, Kyoto Institute of Technology and the Design Incubation Centre, National University of Singapore
